No Tricks Just Sweet Treats

CAN has an exciting new announcement!  We eliminated PAID CAN memberships and opened the CAN website tools and information to everyone in our community.  We are working hard to make our site fresh, exciting and informative.  We anticipate our new site will be launched early 2016.  As always, you will continue to receive our weekly CAN Alerts.  If you have any ideas or comments on how we can make CAN the best advocacy organization possible, please contact us at info@canfl.com.

We are thrilled to announce that attorney Dara Lahav, Esq. recently joined our CAN team.  Dara grew up in Tampa, Florida where both her parents were born and raised.  Dara’s grandfather on her mother’s side, Jack Stir, was the chief announcer and meteorologist for WFLA Channel 8.  He was well known for his children’s television show Major Jack and High Time.  Dara’s grandfather on her father’s side, William Haggerty, received the Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award in 1938 for his civic activism in helping defeat Bolita gambling, run by the Tampa mafia at the time.  Dara is proud of her Florida roots and loves calling the Sunshine State her home.

CAN stars Stacy Timm, Dara Lahav, and Nicole Meek

Dara graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas then from Stetson Law School in 2007.  Prior to joining the Katzman Garfinkel law firm, Dara  enjoyed her legal work protecting community associations. ”Over the years I’ve enjoyed defending community associations from claims against general liability,” Dara stated.  She moved to Orlando in 2010 where she lives with her husband and two children, ages 4 and 2.  “CAN has a terrific reputation in the Legislature as the leading advocacy group for community associations throughout the state of Florida.  I am thrilled to be a part of this organization helping residents living in Florida, a state my family has called home for many generations,” Dara said.

We are so excited that our hard working volunteers and fellow coalitions have joined CAN and helped CAN evolve and adapt to the current needs of community associations. Thank you for your continued interest and valued input while we report, reflect and advocate.

Wishing you and your loved ones a safe and sweet Halloween weekend.

Yours in Community,

Alan Garfinkel, Esq.
