Professional Experience

Mr. Katzman has dedicated himself since 1994 to providing the best possible representation for community association clients by delivering insightful and innovative solutions and strategies along with high quality legal services in the most cost effective manner possible. Mr. Katzman has assisted Florida legislators with community association bill drafting and has attended townhall meetings sponsored by public policy makers who focus on community association issues. Mr. Katzman also has hosted educational workshops for community association managers regarding legal trends and best practices in the specialized area of community association law.

Florida Trend Magazine recognized Mr. Katzman in 2008 among its “Legal Elite” in the area of Business Law. This designation was based upon a poll of Florida attorneys, who selected peers in the top 2% of their respective practice areas.

Activities

Mr. Katzman is active in several charities and has served on the legal advisory board for the charity, H.A.N.D.Y. (Helping Abused Neglected Dependent Youth). He has been a member of both the American Bar Association and the Broward County Bar Association. Mr. Katzman is an active member of the Broward County Chapter of the Community Associations Institute and has served on the UPL Committee for the Florida Bar.

Memberships

Mr. Katzman is a member of the Florida Bar's Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section (RPPTL) and is a frequent participant in roundtable discussions and initiatives concerning common interest ownership communities. Mr. Katzman has conducted numerous accredited seminars for both the Broward and Dade County Chapters of Community Associations Institute (CAI), including; "Parliamentary Procedures: Running an Effective Meeting", "Unlicensed Practice of Law: The Ramifications Of; The Florida Bar re Advisory Opinion Activities of Community Association Managers., 681 So.2d 1119 (1996)", and "Guidelines for 1997 Update Seminar". Further, Mr. Katzman has presented numerous seminars on community association topics such as; "Overview of Fair Housing Laws Pertaining to Service Animals"; "Advanced Collection Strategies Including Bankruptcy, Other Lien Holders and Surplus"; and "Annual Meetings and Elections: How to Avoid Pitfalls".
