Alan Garfinkel is the Founder of the nationally recognized law firm, Katzman Garfinkel and has practiced law for 24 years. A 10 year recipient of Martindale Hubbell’s prestigious "AV" rating, an objective indicator awarding lawyers that maintain the highest levels of ethical standards and professional excellence. Alan Garfinkel was inducted into Million Dollar Advocates Forum, featuring fewer than 1 percent of U.S. trial lawyers who have won Million and Multi-Million Dollar verdicts and settlements for their clients. Alan Garfinkel has devoted his 24-year legal career to natural disaster law and civil litigation. Alan continues to serve as a trusted source for reporters in the wake of Superstorm Sandy and has the coveted role as the Lexis/Nexis Moderator on Property Damage Insurance Claims.
Mr. Garfinkel was raised in South Florida and understands the constant threat of hurricanes and tropical storms and the property damage that such can wreak. Mr. Garfinkel is one of the nation's leading authorities on Natural Disaster law and is listed on the National Bar Register of Preeminent lawyers. Mr. Garfinkel has devoted his legal career to natural disaster relief and civil litigation.
Mr. Garfinkel has authored numerous legal articles and speaks regularly on natural disaster law and civil litigation topics. Since 2004, Mr. Garfinkel is the designated Lexis/Nexis Property Damage Moderator and hosts monthly webinars relating to storm damage on behalf of LexisNexis. Mr. Garfinkel was recently selected to present Superstorm Sandy recovery seminars in New York and New Jersey at conferences representing more than 8,000 Condominiums, Cooperatives and homeowners in New York and New Jersey.
Mr. Garfinkel was elected to serve on the Board of Directors of CAI, Community Association Institute, Central Florida Chapter. He has previously served on the Board of Directors of a scholarship fund to provide funding for students of disabled parents to pursue their secondary education. Mr. Garfinkel is a member of the Real Property Probate and Trust Law (RPPTL) Section of the Florida Bar and is also a member of the Community Association Institute. Mr. Garfinkel frequently gives seminars and lectures around the country teaching professionals how to receive maximum recovery on property damage insurance and construction defect claims.
Mr. Garfinkel was admitted to the Million Dollar Advocates Forum featuring the Top Trial Lawyers in America. Membership in this prestigious organization is comprised of less than 1% of U.S. lawyers and is limited to attorneys who have won million and multi-million verdicts and settlements. Mr. Garfinkel was named a “Super Lawyer” in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 upon an independent survey of lawyers.
